Other alternate treatments can be used to
treat cancer along with the common or conventional methods such as
chemotherapy, surgery, etc. This kind of treatment improves the lifestyle of
the individuals suffering from the disease along with those who associate as
their primary support. It also enhances their positivity which helps them deal
with the illness in a better manner.
Alternate therapies include changing or adding
simple things in your daily routine or schedule. Some of the examples are
meditation, yoga, exercise, diet, etc.
It is most often used as a combined method as their no scientific
evidence of treatment in these alternative therapies by themselves. They are
called as complimentary therapies. Some of the methods of treatments are as
follows:
1. Exercise.
Exercise does not always have to be strenuous
and rigid. Mild exercises that relax the muscles and ensure that there is
enough stamina to combat fatigue or weakness can be practiced on a regular
basis. Some examples are swimming, yoga, stretches, walking, light jogging,
etc. You could involve your support system too which will help you spend more
time with them and bond in a healthy manner.
2. Acupressure/ Acupuncture.
Neither is known to have proof for curing
cancer but there are cases that show that these techniques do help reduce the
symptoms and the fatigue faced due to chemotherapy.
3. Homeopathy.
Homeopathy medicine is also an alternate
method which may act as an enhancer to combat the illness and ease the side
effects of the treatments. It must be taken after consulting the doctor as it
may cause delay in the conventional treatment method.
Other guidelines that you can keep in mind to
make the process easier are to be well rested, join a support group of other
cancer survivors or patients, indulge in light hearted hobbies, etc.
