Breast
cancer is rated the second place on the list of causes for cancer deaths made
by the CDC. It is one of the most commonly found cancer and women are generally
found acquiring it. It is quite normal to feel really shocked or experience a
wide range of emotions when you first get diagnosed with it. It is a highly
unpredictable and dangerous type of cancer which kills a lot of its victims. But
now a lot of treatment options are available which increase the chances of
survival greatly.
Though the
type of treatment which would be most appropriate for you depends on a lot of
factors, such as:

type of breast cancer you have in your body

stage you are in, of your breast cancer

If
the cancer cells are positive for certain receptors
·
Where
the breast cancer has formed in the body
·
Whether
it is the first experience with breast cancer for the woman or not

general health and the age of the woman

preference of the woman
Types of treatment
Surgery-
The surgery
involves the removal of the cancerous cells and some of the healthy tissues
from the beast region while the breast kept intact. In mastectomy the whole
breast is removed after being affected with cancer. Most often a few lymph
nodes are removed from the arm during the breast surgery.
Radiotherapy-
The
cancerous cells left in the breast even after surgery are destroyed by the use
of radiation. It can also be used to relieve or some of the other symptoms
related to breast cancer.
Chemotherapy-
This is the
intake of specialised drugs in the form of injections or pills to prevent the
spread of cancer to other parts of the body.
Hormonal Therapy-
When the
cancer cells are hormone receptive, hormones are used to destroy the spreading
cancer cells.
